New York City's Department of Parks and Recreation names each of the public spaces it manages and identifies them with a sign bearing the name and a Parks Department logo. One fall morning I was walking to work and noticed one of these signs bearing a curious name...

I always imagined it to be...you
know...brighter
I had intended to photograph this sign since 2002, but never had my camera on the days I happened to work in the area, but one day I did remember to carry it. While I was photographing the sign, I turned toward the end of the block, and lo and behold, an explanation for the playground's name became apparent.

Okay, now it all makes sense. He's even got a mini-mart too.
Ha-ha.
